graphic design context

So.

As you might have already gathered: This part of my portfolio isn't a reflection on decades of experience working as a professional graphic designer - but rather the result of two years as a full time online student at Noroff School of Technology and Digital Media.

While working our way through the program, we were required to keep a Reflective Journal in the form of a WordPress blog where we would post the results of our weekly lesson tasks. Through this journal, our teachers were able to observe our week-to-week progress.

The journal was also a great way for me to keep track of my own work. The creative mind tends to get messy, so it can definitely be a big advantage to have the final results of different projects easily available on the interwebs; chronologically structured and far away from the chaotic folder hierarchies of my own harddrive, in which fifty slightly different versions of the same poster often cohabitate.

Looking back on the past two years, I'm so happy this journal exists. In addition to bigger assignments and end-of-term portfolios which were turned in and graded, these blog posts about smaller tasks feel like a great way to remind myself that yes; I've made a lot of progress, and although I honestly can't say if I'm ready to take on a more professional role just yet - the imposter syndrome is strong in this one - I know that if I could get this far in two years, I could go further still.

Greetings!

I'm Mina, an aspiring graphic designer hailing from the seaside town of Ålesund, Norway. I've previously lived in Bergen and Gothenburg.

In my creative processes I often draw inspiration from sources like stories, books and different forms of art and storytelling.

This portfolio presents both my graphic design schoolwork as well as my own personal projects.
